About Us
Located at 6 Nevill St, we are a traditional cook shop at the heart of Abergavenny.
For the absolute beginner and the seasoned professional, the shop has all sorts of treasures.
In 1988, Cooks Galley was established.
The owner, Jonathan Bensley, started his career, in the family business as the chef, in what was the Horse and Jockey, now known as The Hardwick, then went on to The Charthouse, and finally the Plas Derwen.
He decided on a change of direction, and opened up a specialist cook shop, in the busy market town of Abergavenny. Cooks Galley started in Cross Street, then after a couple of moves, is now in Nevill Street.
In 2011, Jonathan’s daughter, Sophie, joined Cooks Galley. They now run the shop together, bringing their passion and knowledge for high quality cookware on the high street.
Cooks Galley, now stock as many things as possible, ranging from a corn on the cob holder, to a commercial grade mixer.
